I hope this will be the salvation of this Weardale gem, this oracle of Weardale and its past need to be saved for future generations to come, long may it remain.

Hi Kenny, the congregation at High House Chapel ceased worship at the end of October 2019 but the chapel is being bought by the Weardale Museum. Their intention is to repair and renovate the chapel sympathetically, create an enlarged heritage centre and off er the space back to the congregation for worship on Sundays. It may take some time to raise the funds and carry out the works. In the meantime it will still be possible to visit the chapel as part of a museum visit and learn about its incredible history.
